Cheery Spring Vignette

Although spring hasn't officially arrived yet, the signs are definitely all around!
The oranges and lemons in the backyard are now ripe and ready for the picking,
and for me that means fresh squeezed orange juice and lemonade...
Yay!

The daffodils are in full bloom as well...
I read somewhere that daffodils have long symbolized rebirth and new beginnings,
especially when presented in a bouquet,
daffodils are supposed to bring the promise of happiness and joy.

Well I think that must really be true,
because when I put this vignette together
I felt a sense of happiness and joy just looking at the bright cheery colors;)
How bout you?

When I spotted these pretty citrus themed decorative plates they gave me a big smile too!

I found this unique green glass vase on a thrifting trip, and
it turned out to be a perfect vessel for the daffodils and for this display.
The greens colors will be great for St. Patty's Day too!

Wishing you sunshine and smiles...
Sherri :-)

Valentine Seashell Love!

Happy Valentines Day friends!

I've been in winter hibernating mode since my last post...
Just doing a lot of piddling around the house in between a whole lot of nothin!

But being the romantic that I am I just had to pop in to wish you all a very
Happy Valentines Day,
and share a couple of little romantic vignettes with you.

Roses, whether fresh or faded always evoke a sense of romance,
not to mention lace, and seashells...
A little more romance here...
with these gorgeous iridescent turbo shells I bought at Pier One a few days ago.
Now what girl wouldn't love a sparkly giant size diamond shaped crystal on
Valentines Day?
I love almost any that sparkles ;-)
and until I find the perfect bottle for this stopper to go in...
It adds a touch of glitz to this silver display.

I'm really loving decorating with seashells lately,
it makes me dream about spending the day at the beach
listening to the waves washing against the shore...
or gazing at a beautiful sunset...
Now that sounds just lovely, don't you think?
 ♥♥♥

Hope you're enjoying a lovely Valentines day :-)
XOXOXO
♥ Sherri

New Look for the China Cabinet

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  We had a small gathering here
(just the way I like it).
The highlight of the evening was when  I pulled my hubby up out of his chair
and insisted that he dance me around when one of our favorite
"Elvis" Christmas songs was playing ha ha!
It was fun, and his Mom got a kick out of watching us.
It had been so long since we had danced  together it was like we both had two left feet!!
Hard to believe that when we were younger we could really burn up a dance floor...
Oh, the good ole days...

Now on with the re-do...
I decided that I was ready for a bit of change from the blue and white china
in my china hutch
and this is what I came up with... A wintery whitish woodsy look,
featuring vintage Ironstone with a touch of vintage green Majolica
and vintage brown transferware plates.

You can see the before photo on my sidebar.
My paper white bulbs are just about ready to bloom in this pic!!

This Ironstone pitcher is one of my latest exciting finds!!

 Paper whites in BLOOM... Yay!

Close up...
This called for an artsy photo with the leaded glass doors...
hmm, could be in my next blog header I think!
(okay...done!)

Last look...
...I'm still in love with my Craigslist hutch :)

I will be taking a blogging break for a while,
I've come down with a cold virus.  This makes the third (and I hope the last)
that I've gotten within the last 3 months.
I think I've been running myself a bit ragged lately and must have weakened my immune system
I guess, because I rarely get sick.
Sooo... I'll being "trying" to get a little rest and then start the
"not so fun chore" of putting away and organizing the Christmas decor...

I'd like to to wish all of you out there a
VERY HAPPY, HEALTHY
New Year
  filled with MANY blessings!!

Take Care, and thanks for stopping by to visit!

Hugs, Sherri :)
