Victorian Paradise~

It' a lovely Outdoor Wednesday!

hosted again by the lovely *Susan* @

Oh, be sure to visit Susan's blog and leave her a message
and visit the other participants blogs too!

I'm so glad you could join me today
for a stroll to this nearby historical home that could have been destroyed in the name of progress.

But was saved and opened to the public. It is now my favorite place to take an afternoon stroll to.
It's also in the corner of the parking lot of the grocery store where I do my regular shopping at.

This beautiful Queen Anne Eastlake style Victorian home was built in 1899.

For many years I must have driven by this home time after time, and could never actually experience it's beauty, as the exterior had totally become overgrown to the point where the home was totally hidden.

Now it's been restored to it's original glory, and the
grounds are neatly trimmed and surrounded by beautiful
Redwood trees.

Currently the roses are also in full bloom just beyond the white picket fence.

....and if it wasn't charming enough on it's own,
it's now home to a dozen or two roosters and hens...

and you know I'm crazy about roosters!

They just strut around the grounds as if they were somewhere out on a country farm,

not on a commercial lot in the middle of town next to a busy highway!

I love to sit in the courtyard and dream that I live in this charming home,
without a care in the world...

Just bask in the warm sunlight...
and laugh a little, while I watch the the roosters and hens squabble over the feed that I've tossed out to them....
As I sit ever so content...
I gaze up occasionally to admire the graceful lines and intricate details of the homes architecture.

You know the saying in the song that goes...
"You can't always get what you want...but if try sometime,
well you might find...you get what you need!
Well I may not "get" to own this lovely Victorian,
but when I feel the "need",
I can go just about any time and sit and enjoy
it's beauty and charm!

...and dream a little dream...
...and stop and smell the roses...
and smile...
**************
I'm so glad you could stop by for a visit today!
Please come again soon!

Sherri,
I am playing catch up on posts, so I am very glad not to have missed this Queen Anne beauty. What I would give to take a peek inside and wander around awhile. That porch is they type I dream of. Those roosters are a hoot, does the city allow them? Wonder if they wake the neighbor’s in the morning. They sure are cute to look at. ~Cathy~
