It Never Rains In California... But Man It Pours!!!

We've had a very stormy welcome to spring here in Northern California!
Boo Hoo!!!

We've already had several days of drenching rain along with a night
of howling winds.....and there is more to come!

When I heard there was more on the way I knew I had to do something quick
to bring a little sunshine indoors to get me through it!!
So....
While there was a brief break in the weather,
I went out in the backyard to pick some oranges from our tree...

Here is our tree...
The oranges are ripe, ready and SO juicy and sweet this year!

In my humble opinion California oranges are
THE BEST!!

I just had to pick some and bring them in and make some
delicious fresh squeezed juice!

See me picking them here in my cute little outfit?!!  Tee hee!

Hmmm...
While it's storming it might be a good time to go to the Mall
to look for a new pair of shoes ;)

I also brought in some daisies that are in bloom in the backyard and put them in these jars inside my wire basket to help keep my mood sunny during all this rain.
Also put some of my beautiful oranges in a bowl beside my cute green colored glass vintage citrus juicers...
Of course I actually used my electric juicer to juice the oranges though...
I also like my juice pulp free so I use stainer as well!

Just in case the daisies and oranges aren't enough
to get me through the stormy weather...

I had my hubby to build this hot air balloon from one of my oranges,
so we can fly out of here until the storms have passed!!

If you're having sunny skies where you live,
would you mind if we drop in for a visit?!!

Hugs,  Sherri:)

I remember stepping out of our hotel room and picking lemons and oranges from the trees on our last CA visit. They are delish and sweet and juicy! We are having rain today- off and on showers but warmer temps. Weird weather here! Stay dry, toots! xo Sue

I can't imagine how nice it would be to walk in the backyard and pick an orange from my own tree. Love your vignette.

In my humble opinion I believe that an orange julius made in California beats all the oranges in the universe!

The puddles, oh the puddles! We had down here in San Diego, Cali. But today we finally had the prettiest blue sky.

I truly enjoyed your post and lovely pix. Enjoy those cheerful oranges! How fun to have your very own tree.

Cute post...and I agree about CA oranges...we have a orange and tangerine tree in the yard and they have been really good this year...I guess all the rain has helped!

As I am writing this it is pouring buckets outside. I am in Southern Cal. and yup...cold, wet and gloomy! I want to feel the warmth of the sun! But we know Sunny California is just around the corner and hey...look at those lovely oranges!! Yum...fresh squeezed. Love the green dishes. Stay dry and we will be complaining about the heat soon enough! Hugs!

You are not going to believe this but I have a similar post waiting to be posted! Of course, I can't say that I got to pick the oranges though. That must be fun.
Great post!

Hi sweet Sherri,

Your oranges look wonderful....but, you haven't had the Florida navel oranges in our backyard. Toooooo delicious. We could have an orange eating contest...I had those with my sisters when we were growing up. Haha.

Such a happy post.

Hugs,
Barb ♥
