*****
This is a repost of My French Bleu Master Bed and Bath suite
I first posted it back in April 2009 when I first started blogging.
Hope you enjoy the tour!!

My master bedroom suite was part of a large addition we added to our home several years ago. The antique reproduction furniture is made by "Pulaski". The fabric on the window treatments that I made are Waverly's "Sweet Violets" pattern. I was inspired to use this pattern after seeing it used in a model home and loved it!  Blue is a perfect restful color for a bedroom...

Above is a framed, signed and numbered lithograph I love called  "French Tea Garden"
by artist  "Childe Hassam".
She looks as though she is waiting for someone to join her...
I made this dust ruffle, and bought the quilt from J.C. Penney
I think they compliment each other nicely without being a matching set.

I also made this striped heart shaped box pillow, and goes nicely with this purchased pillow with the quote...
Love makes the world go 'round' !!!
This cozy little window seat over looks the pool outside. The seat cushion I also made with the Waverly fabric, and then I added a few throw pillows on top, including my favorite pillow I made from a remnant of vintage barkcloth. The appliqued pillow I made from a blouse.
I bought the iron scroll piece above the window from Ballard Design.
This cute little settee below, I made from a twin size head and foot board
I got for free at the end of a garage sale when no one had bought it.
I was inspired to build it after seeing one done on an episode of the HGTV's show
"Decorating Cents" in the segment called "Trash to Treasure".
I wonder what ever happened to that show ?? Is it still on??
Anyway on the wall behind it, I used the same wallpaper border that I also used in the master bath, and to save some mullah, below the border, I decided to apply a checked pattern using a sponge cut into a square and a little french blue acrylic crafts paint.
It was a bit time consuming and a bit tough on the knee's though.
But well worth it!

The arrangement on top of my dresser has been changed from my original post. I had to make room for my highboy jewelry box I bought on my last thrift store shopping spree!

I love Cheval mirrors and this one that came with my bedroom set
was one that really made me say Oooo when I saw it :o
The bunny buggy I bought at an antique store while visiting my mom.
It was a real trick fitting it in my suitcase to get it home!!

I made this window treatment below with checked tablecloths.
They can be much less expensive to use than fabric by the yard, especially when you find it on sale!
I used the Waverly fabric for an added ruffle and ties for the bishops sleeves.
I added wire to the edges of the ties so they could be shaped.
It's very easy to add wire to fabric to make your own wired ribbon, just use a fine gauge wire, and hold the wire next to the edge of the fabric and use a tight zig zag stitch or (embroidery stitch) over the top of wire.

Now heading into the Master bath,
I chose this white Italian tile for a crisp fresh look to compliment the Waverly wallpaper.
My Mom hung most of the paper with some help from little ole me!
On top of the vanity I have my collection of silver topped vanity jars,
I also had this leaded glass window and the cute lil blue night light above the vanity custom made.

This large soaking tub is great after a stressful day!
Just add a lot of hot water, bath salts, scented candles,
some soothing music and a little glass of wine and ....... Ahhhhh!

I hope you enjoyed taking a tour of my French Bleu Master Suite! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Lovely bedroom and bath. I do wish I could sew. You have created a one-of-a-kind look with your sewing abilities. I cannot imagine how long it took to do that stamping on our bedroom walls. I'm impressed. laurie

Hi Sherri...

Ohhhh myyy...what a beautiful bedroom and bath!!! I love the feel of the crisp white and french blue used together!!! All of your curtains are gorgeous...what a talented seamstress you are!!! I just love that violet pattern made by Waverly!!! My friend, you have some really beautiful furniture pieces and I love just love how you have accessorized them!!!

Okay...love that darling window seat area...that photo just looks like it came right out of a design/decorating magazine!!! I love the mix of fabrics...it just has such a sweet feel to me! English or French country! Love it! I do alot of mixing fabric patterns at my place!

Love your wall treatment...the checkered pattern is charming! I bet it did take awhile to do but the outcome is fabulous and so worth the time and effort!!!
I just love your little bench that you made from a twin bed frame...and the price was certainly right! Hehe!!! I just think that's a grand idea! You know, I always watch Decorating Cents too...I don't know what has happened to that show. I used to watch alot of HGTV but it seems like all they run these days is House Hunters...and they've just wore me out on that show! One of the shows that I used to just love was Kitty Bartholamew...they took her off a couple of years ago! Have you ever heard of her?

Anyway...I'm getting off course! Wanted to talk about your pretty bath! I love the blue and white for the bath...it really has such a clean, crisp, fresh feel to it! So nice for a bath!!! I love that beautiful hydrangea wallpaper you did in the bath...bless your mama's heart!!!

Well my friend, your master bedroom and bath is absolutely fabulous!!! Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

Beautiful room! You have saved yourself a lot of money by sewing. I love the settee you made from the old bed. I would love to make one. And I loved "Decorating Cents". I miss that show, it was my favorite. I love your leaded glass window above your shower. I'm lucky, my hubby knows how to make leaded & stained glass windows. So I have a few. Thanks for sharing this post again. I missed it the first time around.

Hello Girlfriend...

Welcome...welcome...welcome to your very first time to join in with Sunday Favorites!!! I'm just elated to have you participate and thank you so much for the sweet, sweet "shout out" in the beginning of your post for Sunday Favorites...sure do appreciate that, my friend!!!

Girl, you couldn't have chosen a sweeter post to reshare with all of us! I DO remember this post and your fabulous bedroom! Hehe...I had to reread the original comment that I left and I "second" everything that I said then! Hehe! I think my favorite thing about your bedroom is all that beautiful waverly fabric that you used!!! I love it all!!! I still love your little window seat...I would just love to have something like that in my bedroom! Ohh...and I was really admiring all of your pretties on your dresser...that gorgeous blue pitcher and those pretty blue onion figurines...and that lovely blue box...well, I could just go on and on!!!

One thing I didn't mention in my original comment was how much I love your beautiful furniture! My friend, it's simply exquisite! I love the tiger oak and all of the "frenchy" detailing on the bed and dresser! It's gorgeous!!! I'm sure that it's antique...where did you find it? Are the pieces a family heirloom? I also didn't mention that fabulous stained glass window in your bath...it's so pretty and soooo perfect in that room!!!

Well Darlin'...as you can see, I'm still just as "long winded" as I was in my first comment! Hehe! This is just an unforgettable post though...I could see those photos of your bed and bath anywhere and know exactly who they belong to! Thank you again for joining in with Sunday Favorites!!!

Have a super Sunday, Sweetie!

Girl, I hope you get plenty of time to lounge around in here, it is wonderful. I still get Decorating Cents here in Houston, TX. I hear they finally got a new hostess that looks a lot like the cute redhead that did it for all those years. I miss Debbie Travis...don't see her on HGTV anymore.

Sherri, I also had my master bedroom and bath done in the Waverly Blue Lake Sweet Violets pattern. I have had to leave that home, but took as much as I could take and my new place I'm going to use it to make my kitchen and sitting area off my kitchen just as cheery. Your rooms were far prettier than mine, I hope my "new" kitchen turns out well. I'll keep checking back.
